About Dr. Ahoubim

Dr. Jessica Ahoubim is a board certified Primary Care Practitioner, Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, licensed Acupuncturist, Herbal Pharmacologist, and a Functional Medicine Fellow. Dr. Ahoubim is a subject matter expert and specialist in Chinese and Functional Medicine for the optimization of overall health.

Dr. Ahoubim graduated from University California Los Angeles with a Bachelors degree in Sociology, minoring in Biology. She continued her studies at Emperors College and Dongguk University Los Angeles where she received her four-year Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. During this time she had extensive training in pain management, orthopedic Acupuncture, Chinese Internal Medicine and herbology. She was also awarded the opportunity to intern at University Southern California Engemann Student Health Center- one of the leading student healthcare facilities in the country.

After completing her 4-year medical program, Dr. Ahoubim attended American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine at California Institute of Integral Studies- one of the leading DAOM programs in the U.S.- studying with nationally and internationally respected physicians. Dr. Ahoubim received her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) degree specializing in complex pain disorders, gynecology, and fertility acupuncture for both men and women.

During this time, Dr. Ahoubim studied The Effect of Two Chinese Herbal Formulas on Inflammatory Biomakers in the Treatment of Endometriosis. Dr. Ahoubim also did extensive research on The Positive Outcomes of Acupuncture for the Management of Post Stroke Symptoms, The Beneficial Effects of Acupuncture on Multiple Sclerosis, The Positive Outcome Using Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Management of Symptoms Related to Pre-Menstrual Syndrome, and The affects of Psychological Stress on Dysmenorrhea.

All of these experiences have led Dr. Ahoubim to have a special interest in the role that chronic inflammation plays on the immune response and disease progression. A specialization that has far reaching applications as uncontrolled inflammation plays a role in almost every major diseases including but not limited to: chronic pain, heart disease or stroke, autoimmune disorders, metabolic syndrome, cognitive decline, and fertility barriers. Dr. Ahoubim is dedicated to the advancement of healthcare technologies and transformations that can combat chronic diseases.

Dr. Ahoubim currently serves as a faculty technical clinic supervisor at Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica.

Dr. Ahoubim is currently an active member and fellow at the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) where she continues to study Functional Medicine- focusing on anti-aging/regenerative medicine and dedicated to enhancing the quality and extending the length of the human lifespan.
